Crinkle, LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company. We design and build applications for iOS, and we run the infrastructure behind them ourselves rather than renting it from a platform that holds our users' data on our behalf.
What we build

A local community and meetup app for iOS. In development; not yet released.

How we build it
We operate our own infrastructure
Our servers are in Germany and our encrypted backups are held separately in Finland, so that losing one data center cannot take both the service and the copies that would restore it. The database, the authentication layer and the API all run on hardware we administer.
Authorization lives in the database
Access rules are enforced by row-level security in Postgres rather than by application code. A permission question has one answer, in one place, and a bug in a client cannot talk its way past it.
No third-party tracking
We ship no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics. This site loads nothing from anyone else either — the fonts are served from this origin, so visiting it tells no one but us that you did.
Privacy is a default, not a setting
Where a choice exists between collecting something and not collecting it, we take the second. Where data must be stored, we prefer to store it in a form we cannot read.
